LINCOLNSHIRE BLOOMS

So many couples are fixated on having a certain flower for their wedding day. I always try to guide them to explore alternative seasonal options. We have the most beautiful flowers grown and picked in England and with good notice, flowers that are grown out of season can be harvested and dried so you can mix your bouquet so it’s full of colour and all those florals you love. This shoot was an incredible display of talent from a truly fabulous florist who foraged these beautiful flowers from the gardens at The Elm Tree in July. We wanted to showcase how

incredible flowers grown and picked straight from the garden can actually look when professionally crafted into a wedding bouquet.

Your wedding flowers are a key component and play an important part in the look of your big day. They add extra color, texture, and create ‘the feeling’ or set the mood for your wedding with their beauty, color, elegance, and style. Whether you choose to just have a bouquet and buttonholes or to decorate your entire venue, your wedding flowers will set the tone and theme for the day. I’m not saying only buy English seasonal flowers, as the most fabulous bouquets are created by flowers flown from Holland, and honestly it isn’t possible to grow all flowers in this country. The lesson that we wanted to highlight in this write up was how English, seasonal and home grown flowers can make just as big of a statement. Plus by using seasonal flowers it means you get healthier, better-looking blooms whilst supporting British growers and respecting the natural cycles of Mother Nature, not to mention you have the opportunity to grow your own wedding flowers, which will indefinitely add to the personality and uniqueness of your day. But if you don’t fancy growing yourself (which let’s face it most of us want to leave it to a professional right!) by booking your florist early enough they can grow or commission a flower grower specially for you.
